You can say this former UST standout was a late bloomer last season as he finally got the opportunity to showcase his talent in the latter part of the Fiesta Conference, where he was impressive against B-MEG Derby Ace in the quarterfinals. The one-time UAAP MVP played 45 games and averaged 6.0 ppg last season, which was fifth among rookies. Cruz also averaged 4.4 rebounds per game, No. 2 among his batchmates. After finally getting his confidence, expect Cruz to play major minutes particularly in the All-Filipino wars.
