A knee injury in the Fiesta Conference somehow affected the Kings’ chances to advance farther than the quarterfinal stage. Had Menk been healthy, Ginebra would have had another wide-bodied player who could defend against the other teams’ imports. Menk played a total of 39 games and improved his scoring average from the previous season to 10.6 points per game. He also averaged 6.4 rebounds a night for the Kings. Already 36, Menk, if healthy, can still be a major, major pain to the opposition at least for a couple of years more.
