Pacman vs Floyd will eventually happen: Koncz

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s business adviser Michael Koncz believes that the blockbuster match between the Filipino superstar and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will eventually happen despite recent failed negotiations between the 2 boxers.

“I think sooner or later, the fight will happen,” Koncz told Fighthype.com.

“Floyd is going to make it look the fight's gong to happen on his terms, when he wants it to happen,” he added.

However, he said the Philippines’ boxing congressman won’t wait for Mayweather to make up his mind.

“We can't just sit around and do nothing either… I believe it can be made because both fighters will compromise where each of them is happy and it'll happen,” said Koncz.

Mayweather has consistently been telling media that he’ll fight Pacquiao after beating Victor Ortiz in September.

This was in contrast to his previous stance where he repeatedly declined to fight the Filipino boxing icon despite being offered as much as $50 million.

Mayweather said the fight will only happen once Pacquiao agrees to undergo blood testing.

“There's the blood test,” said Koncz. “but if he's asking us to take a blood test on the day of the fight, that ain't gonna happen.”

Pacquiao is scheduled for a third fight against Juan Manuel Marquez in November.

If the Mayweather fight pushes through, it would likely take place in 2012.
