Perpetual vows successful season
MANILA, Philippines - Meanwhile, the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) has vowed to ensure a successful 87th NCAA season as well as make an impact in basketball and the race for the general championship.
New UPHSD president Anthony Tamayo yesterday said they’ve prepared hard in guaranteeing the successful hosting of Season 87 using as theme Brazen@87.
He also said the school is aiming for its first basketball championship since 1984.
The Las Piñas-based Altas is also seeking its fourth general championship after pulling off a three-peat from 1994-1997.
“We’d like to make sure that this season is something to be really excited about and be remembered,” said Tamayo.
He added that Perpetual Help teams have trained very hard for this season and “are very eager to have our presence felt not just in basketball but in other sports as well.”
The upcoming NCAA season was actually ushered in with a kickoff ceremony which Perpetual hosted last weekend at its Las Pinas campus, highlighted by charity work, particularly for its extension school at the New Bilibid Prison.
A total of 10 schools are participating in this year’s meet, including San Beda, San Sebastian, Letran, Mapua, St. Benilde, Jose Rizal, Arellano and Emilio Aguinaldo and Perpetual Help.
Lyceum has also been accepted on a probationary status.
