The new franchise was in search of a franchise player as the Bolts want to enter the league with a bang and acquiring Cardona in a three-team trade deal was their answer. The former La Salle star known as Captain Hook topped TNT in scoring for the second straight season with 17.1 points per game, which was third among locals last year. He is now Meralco’s go-to and take-charge guy, playing the role James Yap played for Coach Ryan the previous years.
